I got this Pentium 120mhz chip okay.. cause im doing this report for school about the benefits of a pelt anyway i decided to play with it today and i have it oc right now at 166mhz from 120mhz @3.5v is that dangerous? and im not using a pelt yet cause it didn't come yet what im using to cool it is a Thermalright SK-6 w/delta screamer on it... lol
can't wait for my pelt maybe i can hit 200mhz...
**update!!!
holy fudge i don't need a pelt i hit 200mhz i just restarted it from burning in at 90mhz abit went into the bios and set it to 2x 100mhz fsb.. i don't htink i can make the chip go faster cause it didn't boot before at 2.5x 60mhz fsb..
I smell a new folding machine!!

aww 200mhz is as fast as it will go it won't boot with 2.5x 60mhz fsb or anything higher in either.. thats disappointing.. that means my p150 will only go the same speed right?
The P-150 might go 233 with excellent cooling. Those P-150 CPUs were really a P-166 in disguise (used a default 60 FSB instead of 66 FSB). Most of those P-166 would run 200 MHz even back in the old days before we had big fancy heatsinks and high tech thermal paste.
I'm actually surprised you got that P-120 as high as you did. One of my first overclocks I ever did was with my work computer's P-120 (hey, I didn't want to risk my home computer). I moved the jumpers a notch and suddenly I was running at 133 MHz. It ran that way for several months with no extra cooling and at default voltage until they took it away and gave me a new P-II 266 which I couldn't overclock (no FSB adjustment on the mobo).
I used to do that to the Dells too at work! Usually they would only go up about 33MHz.

My favorite chip: P166.
It does 266 with an oem Athlon hsf!
No mobo right now, so its a spare (in case I try removing a heat spreader from another old cpu again!)
60% oc, gotta love it!
Those old Pentium overclocked pretty well. Impressive. Thats a good clock. I don't know how much the peltier will do though!
