Building new loop

have the compact kit in sig...getting moved to an x2 4400
getting another...
leaning towards the swifty ultima xt from jabtec..
plan to change all tubing and fittings to 1/2 instead....
(do silver or silver plated fittings mean no additives or???)
or for a little extra i could build a custom kit... as follows...
swifty 320 rad w/built in res
655 vario
the aqua extreeme cpu block (seems cheezy to me)
of course fittings, hose, fans...etc

any opinions or ideas welcome.....

I really like the stuff in the kit you didn't link to but I found it, it's the only one they are selling. As long as you can mount the res/rad so you can fill it easy and the filport is up, it's a nice rad.

I like the idea of a bigger rad, but that 120x2 is enuff I think, I'm not up on the AMD heatload. Whats the reviews on that CPU block look like?

And yea running a Ianh silver kill coil, some silver wire, or about 4 of the silver fittings means you don't need 3-4 drops of Petras PT PHN Nuke.

and just so it's clear they must say True silver if they are coming from bitspower. they have 'silver' fittings that are just shiny and not actually .999 silver.

i like the block better in the kit...
was thinkong of the bigger rad for future use as well....
i really wanna clock the crud out of my old x2 4400 the low watt model,
runs stock @ 1.2 volts...

Bro

with the short length of tubing you are using, you can't really go wrong either way. Plus if you really decide that you later need a bigger rad, you know that I would give the old one a good home. :p

I have one thing to say - 10x300, 266 strap, vcore 1.375v, memory 2.7v, ht 600. :p

The Ultima kit from swiftech are great starter kit.

Nice Bits fittings too. If you plan to ad more heat to the loop in the futur stick with the 3x120, but if you stay with the CPU only, a 2x120 is way enough.

this is my planned adventure...

to make it MUCH easier to read either type it out or just take a screen shot. but from what i saw it looks good.

i would however change from the bulky 1/2" tubing and change to masterkleer 7/16". i've used both and masterkleer is alot better imo. the clearflex clouded on me in 5 months. masterkleer is going on for a year now.

I would recommend trying to find the Rev 1 of the Swiftech Radbox. The Rev 2 is made of plastic, while the Rev 1 is metal, and quite a bit stronger.

Also, since the fans you chose are 20mm thick, instead of the usual 25mm, make sure to use washers or cut the screws down by 5mm to avoid puncturing the rad.

Is the MCP655 the variable speed or the fixed speed? The fixed speed has the same output as the variable on setting 4, so you can get better performance out of the vario model, if it is set on 5.

Those are great fans, but can be loud when turned all the way up. I have a pair of them on my Ultra 120A with no fan control, and while the fan on my 9800GT is louder than they are, there was a noticeable change in noise when I put them on the HS. I also have 3 of them that came with the rad I just received, and am thinking about seeing if I can trade them for something quieter. I don't think you will notice any difference in temps by switching to the medium speeds, which are near silent on a fan controller. If noise isn't an issue to you, disregard anything I have said.:p:rock:

was going to use them with a 7 volt mod,..or a fan controller..
wanted the extra air available when needed

well after days of deliberation here it is its on the way......

went over with what i started with but what can i say,,,,,lol ooops

so sig will be a changin soon

boucher91, if your any good with a soldering iron you can make a cheap fan controller to change the speeds.

i've made and am using a 5v to 12v switch to control my fans. i can change them on the fly from either voltage (speed). i've got diagrams for it as well as a 12v, 7v, 5v setup (needs 2 switches) or a 12v to 7v setup.

been looking at that where do you get the plastic connectors if you wantet to make your own? looks a little better than some of my homemade soldered plugs... i save all my old dead fans and reuse the ends...

wow i didnt even know they were there....
jabtech real close to me hmmmm
thats where i bought all this stuff lol....
thanks man
