this for HD movies and whatnot? What's your budget. Are you going to be gaming on this TV? Just about anything at or above 9800GTX+ from nvidia, or 4830+ from ATi will run HD movies just fine. However for gaming on 1080p with high settings, you may need to move up to GTX275 and higher, or 4890 and higher from ATi.

well that cpu is gonna limit the heck out of a $300 video card investment, that's for sure. Then again, you won't need anything that powerful to run WOW, a 4870 or GTX260 and up from either nvidia or ATi will run better than what WoW can throw at it. Problem is Wow is very CPU dependant. You'll notice the X2 struggling. How do you have 7gigs of RAM btw?
but yeah, used GTX260s and 4870s should be found at around $120 or so, get whichever's cheaper imo, the 4870 is slightly better though.

The OP is in a tough situation...
*That PSU certainly wont hold two HD4870's and GTX260's. So he would have to get a better PSU to hold 2 of any decent card. With that said, you can get away with a 9800gt to play WOW and HD movies.
*WOW is certainly mostly CPU like greg mentioned.
7GB of ram??????

yeah thats why i suggested only one 4870 or GTX 260, and yeah the 7GB has me baffled as well lol

I say go with ATI, better multi monitor support than nVidia. I would go for a couple of 4770, enough GPU power for WOW and are easy on the PSU compared to other cards of roughly equal power.

still too much for a 480W no name brand PSU imo. I mean, they'll run, but for how long? lol
seriously, a 4870 is more than enough for WoW, but your CPU will be the problem.

4 slots, gives you either 1, 2, 4, 6, or 8 gig of RAM.
I guess he's not running Dual channel any longer with an odd amount of RAM... but then again, can you run 7 gig? lol funny....

He's gonna need two cards to run 3 screens tho. Would maybe be worth finding out what type and model of PSU is in the system.

well i figure that, so lets assume 2x2gb DDR2 sticks (there are 3gb sticks?) and then, one 2gb stick, and a 1gb stick.
interesting combo

Could of been a typo? If not then I would definatly change that to a dual channel setup.

ah yes good point, misread that. 4770's would be a good choice though, assuming the PSU isn't generic, and I'd still be iffy with 480W. If you wanna game and run 3 monitors + possibly a TV, id suggest a new PSU and CPU for sure.

With matching sticks, sure...One can have an odd number and still be in dual channel. For example, 2x1GB + 2x512MB = 3GB that would still be dual channel. I cant figure out how to get 7 out of four slots though (well I can but thats 4/1/1/1, or 2/2/2/1). 5GB, sure. 2x2GB + 2x512mb. But those are SILLY configs. They have to all be mismatched sticks to do 7GB...
Wierdness. OP...........?

I'm banking on my guess to be correct :), no way to get 7 otherwise.

I'd grab a single GTS 250 and keep one of your 8400GS cards to run the extra monitor.
What brand is that 480w PSU?

Good suggestion ratbuddy. I didn't think of reusing the old card.
And I could have also been wrong about Ati having better multi monitor support.
I was thinking about sli which is limited to two screens where as Ati's crossfire is not :bang head
