Hi everyone!
i got a big issue since i bought my comp,

does anyone know what settings i can use to get my rig stable?
when i play games or sometimes in windows the whole thing just freezes up, i cant do anything exept turn on off button. the guy who built it doesnt know anything, when i bought my computer i said i wanted the best, He didn´t mention that this motherboard, the Striker 2 Extreem 790i Ultra SLI was a tweeking board, and in most cases need to be adjust manully!! Anyway!

This is that i have

Striker 2 Extreem 790iUltra SLI
Inter Quad q9550 2,83Ghz
8GB RAM Patriot DDR3 G-series pc3-12800 1600mhz
2xGtx 280 SLI
Windows 7 Pro

So, what ive tried to do in bios,
mem settings, as it says on the side of dimm 9-9-9-24 2t 1.8V
They are at sync mode 1333mhz
this settings seem most stable so far, but still lot of problems! :(
when i try to put them on 1600mhz the computer freezes after a while,
NB 1.42
SB 1.5
the rest is set to auto, don´t know what it is, but if someone knows something! please contact me asap!!
nothing is overclocked!
Please someone help me!! im loosing my mind here!

try just turning the cpu voltage up a notch or two
or just reset the bops to clear the overclock, and start fresh

also no need to double post.

So can i put the NB back to 1.42 and SB to auto?
and the memory mz to 1600?

Sorry about the double post, i tried to delete one of them but couldnt find the delete button :(

try running memtest to see if your mem is OK...let us know if it passes.

and :welcome: to OCF

if you dont want the overclock

set the memory back to 1600
set the NB and SB back to auto
set the cpu frequency back to what it was originallt ( the multiplier x cpu MHZ should = 2830 )

as for the cpu frequency work out the lowest stable you can get at stock speeds, im not sure what the average is for the q9550

from then it should be 100% stable....if not then either the cpu voltage is set wrong, you have bad ram or graphics card, or something is overheating

if you then want to overclock slowly increase the mhz, and the cpu voltage, and evenually the nb voltage, refer to overclocking guides.

The non-overclocked speed for memory on the 790i Ultra is 1066MHz anything over that is considered overclocked and requires a lot of tuning. Also are you trying to run 4x2GB Ram set up? That is a very unstable setup on the 970i Ultra if you are I suggest going back to 2x2GB Check out this post on n-force boards and 4x2GB setups EVGA RAM CONFIG POST

Is this the ram you are using PGS34G1600ELKC ?

Post your Bios Settings in this format it will help everyone out trying to trouble shoot your issue.

Fill out anything in Red and make sure the rest of your Bios settings match everything that is not in red.
