Hey everyone, as mentioned in previous threads, I am fairly new to building computers so I was hoping to get some advice on motherboards.

I purchased the i7 920 processor from microcenter and I am currently looking at these motherboards:

Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD3R LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128375&Tpk=gigabyte motherboard

or
EVGA 141-BL-E757-TR LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX X58 SLI LE Intel Motherboard
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813188049

From what I can tell, the gigabyte is cheaper because the max supported memory is 16gb compared to EVGA's 24 gb.

Would you guys recommend I got for the 24max GB or the 16GB is more than sufficient?

I am looking to build a gaming computer and is future proof as well. Thanks in advanced.

Of those two, I would go with the Gigabyte. However, for gaming you don't need more than 6GB so the maximum RAM should be a non-issue.

Agree, either the Asus or EVGA board would be an excellent choice. To be honest, I'm not sure which I'd go with if it was me making the purchase.

Both good boards...are you going to run SLI?

If you are concerned with low noise, you might be better off with a full size board to give your multiple graphics cards more room to breath.
