Hey thanx for looking, my 1st post, so : Hi all,
I'm n00b at building, and I am going to build a system based on the Asus A7V266 E / Raid board, with an Athlon XP 1800.
My question/s are:
What is the best and easiest cooler to fit ??
I've been told that the boxed AMD fan is ok if like me, you dont plan to overclock.
But after reading many reviews on the Asus board, I'm finding that the temps run a little higher because of the FSB actually being 267.
I intend to use AS, but what about a shim ?? good/bad ??
I just want to build a system where I have a lesser risk of crushing the core, so please give me the benefit of your knowledge.
Also, just to tag this on, what wattage of PSU should i use, I'm thinking >= 300W ???
And has anyone got a good ATX case they'd recommend, and how many fans do you recommend, does the PSU fan count ??
