What I mean is, is it better than normal electronic heat-sync compound? Does the silver content really lower the CPU 7 degrees like some reviews say? If so I may need to invest in a tube.....

I have tried both and yes it does bring it down some. If your a hardcore overclocker you will want some to bring the temps down as much as possible.

What am I saying if your here you must be. Silly me

Many people swear by it- I'm one. I have also used the cheap Radio Shack stuff: it works, but I got my temps anywhere from 2c lower to 5c with AS2.

Any kind of compound is better than those little "thermal pads" that a lot of heatsinks come with.

Here (http://www.daocplace.com/index.php?review=as3) are my findings on thermal paste. The stars genaric paste is about 11c worse compaired to AS2 and AS3. That is a serious difference. I don't gaurentee results like those but its definately worth the investment.
