Hey all, I am new to this and I am wondering what diff it makes when my two rigs are running SETI at the same time w/ the same user id. Am I getting more work done? Can anyone explain to me what my puters are doing?

Welcome to the forums...and I have to ask, what's the story behind your name?

But, to answer your question, each of your computers is working on a different WU (work unit). So, if you're running two systems, then you are crunching two different WUs. When they're both done, you'll get credit for two WUs. That's why SETI farms are so popular. Some guys have 10 or 20 or thousands of computers crunchings WUs!

Welcome to the forums Puer. :) Using more than one machine allows you to produce higher stats faster...good for you!

I believe that name relates to the "Peter Pan" syndrom. ;)

Welcome to the Forums!
And to The Best Seti Team to Crunch for!

my usual "new member bit- a bunch of Beginner's Guides HERE (http://www.overclockers.com) , good refreshers too if its been a while.

More info on Seti (and the Team) here-> OCSetiTeam (http://www.ocsetiteam.com)

Seti Farming is cool...and you've got a nice little garden growing there! Be careful though, or you may catch the Full Blown Farming Bug: budget includes parts for farm rigs; spare time is spent running cat5 to another spot you can hide a cruncher, and you try to convince everyone you know with a computer to Crunch for OCSetiTeam- preferably under YOUR name!
Its a lot of fun:D

Hey all, thanks for the response!
To answer your question about "Puer Aeternus"...yes Peter Pan is pretty darn close. It is a Jungian term meaning " the eternal child"....Puer Aeternus is Latin for Puer=child of light and Aeternus=Eternal. So a person w/ a "peter pan syndrom is most likely a Rock climber, mystic, pilot, lives on the edge kinda person..seeks new highs and invokes youth and adventure for good and bad.
So I like the term and use to invoke youth and also as reminder that we can fly too high and get our wings burnt!
( I am also a rock climber and study/student of the western mystery tradition-Gnostism, esoterism, Kabalah(QBL) etc):burn:
