Raid set up

ok..i got my raid0 on 1 channel, now i just tryd to put them on seperate channels and my bios/fastrak util. wont read them...how can i get them on seperate channels as suggested.

Do you have both drives jumpered as Masters?

not know, as originally set up.

but yes when i put the other cable in, i did chk jumpers and cables.
even switched um around, fasttrk util. said, discs not found, chk power and com. connections

with my highpoint controller, i can just shut down, throw the disks on different channels, and the controller auto. picks them up as the same array. being that yours is not doing this, it seems to me that the only option is to wipe the disks clean and create a new array out of them. since nobody else seems to have any ideas after your repeated bumps, if you can't find any extensive ideas on the net anywhere, it looks like that's the road you'd have to take.

you could ghost the array to another single drive, then move the data back after you've created a new array, or leave them on a single channel as they are now (which, from all things i've read on the topic, degrades performance). good luck with it:beer:

thanks bro...i went to the WD site, and it said somthin about 16k cylinder max that bios or somethin can read or dtect. I have 2x100gig drives..that may have somtin to do with it.

Cud i try to unplug drives boot up, then shut down,plug um bak in hopefully uninstalling the other raid config., then bootup and c if the fsttrk utli. sees them on seperate channels as clean drives? Or will itstill be set up for raid0, which it is no

i tried switchn them around then booting up, but fstrk util. doesnt detect them...:(

^ that wud be just to easy if it worked tho..lol
