I installed a ThermalRight SK-6 on my XP1900 and it sounds like it is trying to take off! It has a Delta Fan, I have seen it mentioned that it is loud... but I never figured it was this loud!!
How can I quite this down? Different fan? Can you please recommend a quieter fan that will get the job done?
1. You can run your fan off the 7v from one of the molex conenctors.
2. You can get a new fan. SVCompucycle.com is a good place to look
3. You can get a rehostat to adjust the speed of your fan.
The rehostat is the best idea since you can control temps and noise.
the noise is from the delta, and the sk6 is a rather loud heatsink, i think, there is some site that has a listening room for diffrent fans, i cant remember it, i bet someone will mention it
Edit: ya, the site in bender's post is the one with the listening rooms, we posted at almost exactly the same time

www.sidewindercomputers.com has a listening room and really good prices as well.
and this is why i bough a 80 mm heatsink.. well ok lets see i cant really remeber the name of it but i think its something like a funnel that will allow a 80 mm fan to attach to ur heatsink which should allow more cfm but at a much more tolerable sound.. (like my system) or **** it all and go with watercooling.. ahh dont u love AMDs ;)
P.S welcome to the fourms Klownin`s Girl.. there is a vast amount of info here just take it all in :D
