Okj heres the problem if the modem drivers are installed for a 56k but you only have a 28.8k would that cause the modem to dissconnect you over a period of 15 mins?

well first of all installing the inproper drivers for the modem, may not work. Or the modem may not function correctly. :burn:

that happenes a lot to me. If u live in a apartament then ur phone line might not be able to have enough electricity to keep up ur connection. I just came from school and i got disconnected 5 times every 3 minutes.

Check for line noise getting dropped a lot is a sign that the phone line has alot of EMI noise on it. try connecting to your ISP with hyperterminal if when you connect your window fills up with wierd unintelagable ascii characters you have line noise and you should call the phone company to fix it.

that modem is to slow to mess with, get yourself a 56k, they can be had for almost nothing used.

programs accesories comunications hyper terminal. Run hyperterm.exe and follow the promts. use your ISP's phone number and log in as normal then the window will be empty or full of text if there is no noise or it will fill up with ascii characters if there is noise.
