nForce Drivers, what are they?

I own a Geforce 2 MX 400, and I went ot the Nvidia site. Matt (BigRed) told me to dload the new drivers for it, but the most recent were form last year. So I looked further ont eh website, and there were new drivers, nForce drivers. It doesnt specificy what its for, and theyw ork for all OSs...but what are they?

Why didn't you just download the 23.11 drivers. The newest ones are the 27.20. Take a look at the web site in Pinky`s Sig.

What do you mean what they are? Also go ahead and download the 23.11 drivers. Thats what most of us use.

I believe nForce is a chipset NVidia has developed. I quote TomsHardwareguide on this:

"A chipset is the 'glue' that keeps the other system components together. It's the backbone of every PC, since it connects the processor(s), memory, graphics cards, PCI cards, ports, ... with each other. Without the chipset, all those components couldn't communicate with each other and the PC wouldn't run, it wouldn't even be a PC. "

Not much to do with the geforce card in other words!:)

The nforce is just like intels onboard video... except its a geforce 2 instead of the cheap intel video. The newest OFFICIAL drivers for your card are the 23.11's... but theres also the 23.12's by Asus... and the leaked 27.00, 27.10, and 27.20. Personally I get the best performance from the 23.11's (that is when I have my card... it's being RMA'd) Good luck.:)

Personally just grab yourself 23.11 those drivers are the best preformed one for 90% of the majority of us. Sites have reported the 27 series make you lose a whole bunch of performance besides those drivers are the early drivers for GeForce 4 so they must have bugs!

i dunno, the 22.50's got me a pretty outrageous score on 3dmark2k1 for a GF2, i broke 5000, like 5048 or something. Thats what I suggest.
