View Full Version : Give yourselves a pat on the back!
EVGA has lost nearly 1 million PPD in the last couple weeks.
OCAU has lost 300,000 PPD over the last month
MPC has lost nearly 800,000 PPD in the last month
CustomPC has lost nearly 300,000 PPD in the last month
We have gained 500,000 PPD over the last month!!!We have blown away our seemingly impossible objective of passing OCAU and current estimates put us over a week ahead of schedule. In the process we have cut MPC's HUGE PPD lead into a 600,000 PPD Deficit. Furthermore If EVGA keeps loosing PPD and we keep gaining, We could actually hold them off!!!
3rd, 2nd (even 1st) place are all achievable.. It's just a matter of how badly we want it. Let's make our intentions known, we intend to push forward and no-one's getting in our way!:rock::rock::rock::rock::rock:

I be happy with one, on a side note I did get my 20k+ rig back folding...
Hardass, those i7's can fold *great* without gpu folding.
Set them up ( -configonly), with your passkey from fah, and let them fold big WU's, but not advanced, with 4GB RAM, and in Linux (either via VM, or native OS). After 10 WU's have been returned, the rig will be eligible for the new *extra large* WU bonus, and your points will skyrocket.
Check out fah main forum for all the info, but get on this - one i7 can make 25,000 ppd, if it's running at 3.6GH.
This is a trial project, so it may not last, but the client (a new drop in binary client), is stable, so far.
And the points will surely make you smile. :D :D :D

Nope remember the second just went online last night. And my main lost a Bigun because of power failure here Friday.:temper:
OK! The second one is still not adding to your ppd average, yet!
I expect to see you in our top 20 and racing past me in short order, buddy!

Those bonus points are awesome! I went from 24000 PPD to nearly 40000 PPD! I'm hoping to add another i7 this summer.

yes the faster the CPU the more work will be done in the same time .
Fast, but cool enough to keep all your components in spec, and always stable. You can't fold on the "ragged" edge of overclocking.
Believe me, we've all tried! :)
FAH is a marathon endeavor, and it can find instabilities that other benchmarks can miss.

I run my i7's a bit on the conservative side for stability at around 3.6ghz. Even though I have good after-market cooling, come Summer time temps will be a issue. I try to keep voltages rock-bottom, while keeping enough of an OC to return the work in the preferred deadlines. With the current WUs my machines are doing about 34~35min TPF; I think it was said on FF that 42~43 minutes per frame was the absolute maximum for returning on preferred deadlines.

Warning: Watching your stats is addictive. You'll soon find yourself upgrading your hardware based on how many more PPD you can squeeze out of it.

Yes, it can be a full blown addiction which will cost you alot more than being addicted to Heroin, and with greater withdrawal effects.
The cure? Stanford's very last project will focus on that...

Might want to keep an eye on that. I think a few people have tried and found that the Atoms won't fold quick enough to make the deadlines. Or that the PPD was so low as to not be worth the power required to run the netbook.

You can have HFM upload your current status via ftp to a web server. See my sig for an example. Then just access that website from the blackberry.
If you don't have a ftp server, pm me. I can set you up with an account to mine

OCAU - Its the hottest part of summer for them now.....
the others - Xmas blues???
Summer heat, climbing electric rates and loss of team leaders, has hit the Aussies, according to them, pretty hard.
Widespread economic downturn has hurt several teams, imo. MaxPC has a normal lull between Christmas and New Years. This year, it's much bigger.
If our pace continues to quicken, it will be VERY interesting later this year.

omg 10hours for a big 500000 step jobbie, still got the systray running too so am at 67% cpu usage which still leaves enough system response to use it happily with out it going laggy/slow

There are other ways to install it so nothing shows up in the systray. But first, do you have permission to install FAH on these systems?
Be sure you have permission before you run FAH on somebody else's computer. That's one way an eager folder can get into big trouble.
See the front page article at Overclockers, about the other ways.
