View Full Version : why not.. for a car?!

Hey all.... I'm gettin creative here and just throwing out an idea I just had while watching a car show on television!

Why couldn't someone, if they had the time of course, get a really large sheet of plexi (or some sort of strong heat resistant clear stuff) and mount it on their car as a hood. With a good wind scoop you could cool the engine enough to not melt the plexi.. I think... I'm no expert on this. It would be sweet because anyone who goes by would see this vehicle that looks like it has no hood and they would see the engine working away... and as they got closer they would all be like, "wow, that's really cool."! And I'm sure it would win some sort of prize in a car show or two. It sure beats the heck out of low riders (no offense any one who has one, just my personal pref. about low riders... I like em jacked up for off roading!). Anyway. I don't know if anyone has noticed, but I'm sort of on a plexi kick lately... what sort of stuff have you guys used plexi for.... OTHER THAN WINDOWS ON THE SIDE OF THEIR BOXES!

later all.

Actually I have seen this done using lexan, a couple times. I don't remember where I saw it, but both times it was on a Ferrari. So the Plexi was on the back. You could still see the engine really well. It looked really nice.

DAMN! Here I am thinking that I just had the coolest idea in the world and now it's gone. Well, at least if I did that to my vehicle then everyone locally would think it was my idea originally! I bet that would look tres' cool on a ferrari! Nothing like a big slab of lexan to make things cool huh? Man, what is that stuff not good for? LoL.

Talk to you all later.

i thought of that before too....But most peoples engines arent clean enough or kept clean enough to have them always look nice exposed
