View Full Version : Looking at getting a Radeon 8500, worth the upgrade?
I'm probobly going to just pick up the OEM model as it's much cheaper. Always had good luck with OEM models anyway. I know there not clocked as high but you can still overclock them.
I can pick one up for around $165.00 + S&H.
In your opinion is it worth upgrading from the Radeon 64 DDR?
I will be getting a new Shuttle AK35 as well as another 256 megs of PC 2100 too. (Tax returns :))

In a word 'yes'. You'll get a nice performance boost, plus the additional feature support of the 8500. Keep you going for a good 12 months anyway ;)
It's worth it yes, but I'd wait for the new ATI and GeForce product to fully come out first and then wait for the Radeon 8500, Ti500 etc. to drop prices.

I have the OEM version, I canīt get the memory to run at retail speed even though they are the same model and make as the retail.
