hey everyone,
i was trying to run the no nonsense text only version and i was wondering, is there a way to put you name and team in there? or does it just do it for whatever? because the windowed version doesn't work too awful well, and the text one works pretty good, but the last wu i did, i don't think it counted for me, especially since i hadn't put in a username or team. so yeah any help with this would be appreciated.
thanks,
-Aaron
Of course there is if you do like I do, you have put a shortcut to the Folding.exe in the startup folder in your start menu. What you need to do is shut down folding by press Control + C and that will shut down the Client. Then right click on the shortcut you have place in the startup folder, look in the target line after the end which should end in .exe" put -config so it would look something like this;
"C:\Folding\Folding 1\FAH2Console.exe" -config (Keep in mind this is from my computer)
Then restart it from the start menu using that shortcut, it should ask you for a user name and a team number, our team number is 32. It will also ask if you want it to ask before transmitting if you are on a 24/7 ISP say no, if you are on Dialup say yes. Once you have it configured properly shut it down and change the target line back by taking the -config off of it. Then restart folding and away you go, and by putting it in the startup folder it will automatically start when your computer starts.

It is easier and with less hassle to just edit the config.cfg file. Change username from anonymous to whatever your username is. And change team=0 to team=32

Actually it is easy to mess up the config this way. If you want an easy way then download the beta 2.17 they fixed it to ask when you first run it. Beta (http://folding.stanford.edu/beta/)
I have been running it for a while and it seems to be just as if not more stable than 2.15
Another thing you can do is make a shortcut with the -config flag and save it in your folding directory. That way it is there when you need it.
kendan is right. i have the 2.17 version running on both of my processors.
