taking a dvd and changing it to another format

i want to take a dvd and change it into another format so that it can be saved on my hd the qualty does not matter, size does. i want to make as small of a memory hogger as possible.


and what programs you guys reccomend. to convert them.

It's not illegal to make backup copies on your hard drive.

Just like CD's and VCR tapes, you can back them up as long as you don't sell the copies and it is for you own use!
