Any advice for whart and how i should set them up?Should i raid them? Also is there away to run my OS and some apps on them. And then use my two seagates for games and what not without having to run two OS's.
Basically what im asking is how can i use my storage drives as an active part of the main drive without having the OS on them to.I think that makes sense .If i hope someone understands what im asking..lol

I got 2x 30's SSD's in Raid~0 just for the OS alone. The 2x 500GB's Seagates have my games & apps. No secondary OS needed for that.

The way I did it was:

SSD's in raid with win7 x64- Main

500gb Seagate as HDD-1
Games/Music/Apps

500GB Seagate as HDD-2
Backed up Files

When installing games and apps, I direct it to HDD-1. Sometimes I'll create a folder for said app/game.

So i can open the game and play right from the drive?I tried this with my raptors when they were in raid 0 and i couldnt get anything to work off my other drives.Neb what drives do you have? OCZ Vertex?

Nope, these (http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/solid_state_drives/ocz_solid_series_sata_ii_2_5-ssd)

The way I have mine setup I have no problems installing my games on my storage drives and accessing them via desktop icon. They play just fine.

GB,
i have no issues using other drives with my ssd's in raid. i guess is the only issue is that turning off indexing. makes opening up the mechincal drives a bit slower as the os looks at the files first.

Yeah HDTune/Tach are not good for SSD's. CM like Evil suggested or ATTO or AS SSD are best for that.

Glad its all working...congrats!

Been doing this for years... Selecting custom or changing the default location of the install location...

I believe I read that TRIM doesn't work on RAID configurations. What are you planning to use instead?

Correct. Garbage Colletion or GC Firmware will have to be used.

yours is only low in the SEQ section... only thing that might hold that back would be driver tweaks, maybe...

even if you compare to my atto, your not far off...

i would say the small differences you see are from either different drives or how the firmwares are configured. as the ME drive does have the Indilinx Barefoot controller.

Barefoot controllers and firmware 1819 and 1916.I will flash the older one with the newest firmware which is 1916
