Bought a new Galaxy GT 240 Video card. And upon installing the drivers (with the disk that came with the card) I got a Windows error that read "The Nvidia setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit"
I have an E2200 Intel processor , a 945GCT-M Motherboard, and Pc 6400 DDR2 RAM.
And its not showing Display in Device manager.
Anybody have an idea as to what i should do?

:welcome: to O/C Forums
Go to www.nvidia.com (http://www.nvidia.com) and download the latest drivers for your card. :)

Are you sure you are getting the right drivers for your card? ie, 32bit or 64bit?

yes. i am using drivers off of the disk that came with the card ... 64 bit... i also tried the 64 bit drivers from nvidia. and it still gets the same error a third of the way through the install.

Can you try extracting the driver setup file to a folder on your desktop then try manually updating the driver from device management?

It is not showing ANY display adapter in device manager.
Is there anything i have to Activate in bios?

The GPU has its own bios and the regular bios doesn't affect it.
Are you the admin on this pooter? None of that windows blocking stuff?

You could try disabling the onboard GPU in the BIOS if there is a option for it.

in Bios, i went to extention "PCI/PNP Setup" and all i could find was the following
Init Display First - PCI Express Card
Allocate IRQ to PCI VGA - Yes

Seems ok to me. Have you made sure you are running the latest BIOS and chipset drivers for your board? Is the card not listed in device manager at all? Like under other devices?

no it is not listed under other devices.

Have you tried re-installing the driver for the intel 945g/gz/gc/p/pl pci express root port?
