If they are anything like the fuzion v1 I used to have, pencil won't have anything good enough. You could take the springs you got to a hardware store and see if they got anything in similar size and similar compression to work.

01-12-10, 10:21 PM
And i third it
I just tore down my system and i had a couple of the plastic ones on the rad that had been sitting on there for 4+ months and it had got hard enough to breake instead of just open up like it's supposed to
By the way the plastic ones was at the outside and at the bottom so no chanse of water leaking on any components in case of one of them breaking and started leaking

georanma
01-12-10, 11:03 PM
Ya dude, Id see about riding out some like metal clamps of some sort period. From everything Ive read, the plastic ones are bad news. I think you can get pre-painted ones online if you dont like the metal look. Im gonna just hold out for funds to do compression fittings in my case. Looks clean as hell. The worm clamps are beast though. My loop has them, but its just a bench rig. It runs pretty much 24/7 and has since like october, when I got it.

Conumdrum

Grosjambon

i know now doing with no rig in the computer and the dtek in big bottle if its leak again this thing will go in the garbage and i will use the Swiftech GT

Another bad news `:( when i was removing the tubing off the dtek the 2 clip of my ek res broken... those thing are ridiculously fragile.....

BobbyBubblehead
01-13-10, 12:43 PM
wheres the res broken?

didnt nail it to your case did you :sly: #Laughs#

other than one guy last year fracturing one at the top by screwing the end caps down too much maybe, Ive not noticed people complain about them.

got a 450ml myself... looks like you could beat someone to death with it

you can get metal ones and some of the other replacement plastic ones live longer than the EK`s

I got about four or five tries out my first bracket... woot!

four holes & some cable ties? (with yer easy mod case #Laughs#)

Yea nothing is leaking but the my pumps is doing hell of a noise....after 1minute of running is that normal that i ddidint had to refill the res after running the pump? they are still 3/4 of water in the ek res 250ml

BobbyBubblehead
01-13-10, 01:38 PM
I did something different it was just a thought.

I mean just stick 4 small holes in the right place and you can strap it to the case throught the back erm... board.

Nothing was On but it only... flooded over my gtx 280 :( i hadl ike 6'' of paper towels there and it was still flooding over it :(

BobbyBubblehead
01-13-10, 03:12 PM
well you could have some in the pcie slots two then.

lots of fins, fan motors and chips to get water in/under in that type of card.

you need two make very sure its all dry.

myself I would either point a household fan at the board and stuff over night and stick the card somewhere warm.

Actually I would take the card apart and put some better thermal compound on it but in your case `Captain Chaos` :) I would slow down a little and try to screw less up #Chuckles#

you dont rush PCing it just protest back at you 79660 wipe on wipe off Daniel son.... or in your case spray on wipe off #LAughs# 79661 <--- I love this one

Rough times man. Thats why I leak tested away from my components for 48 hours before I was satisfied with my loop. Hopefully, your parts are ok. My desktop survivied a bud light dropping on top where the mesh is on the haf.

Grosjambon
01-13-10, 10:45 PM
Ok. Just to let u know i am not rushing anything i am posting this from my 2nd computer (not the watercooled one) now im running it for more than 2hours and no leak. ( ifirst tested the cpu block in a big bottle) Filled the res - runned the pump --- refilled the res --- runned the pump again and no leaks. So i decided to put TIM + puting it on my motherboard some paper towels below cpu block and it's been running for 3-4hours without any leaks.Motherboard is not running --- no graphic card installed yet ---
Graphic card is near of a hot spot.
Hmmm yea a pic.
Here is how I did Attemps number 2. The dangerous cpu block in the bottle lol

it's at about 4.7 :)

you can see the outline of the arrow on the pump within the black triangle i drew over it.

I dont have anymore tim :(all used on the cpu and i was still missing some. I might order some to come with my scythe....

BobbyBubblehead
01-14-10, 11:12 AM
think theres a possability you would need some thermal pads for the ram chips and stuff aswell.

only took them apart and replaced with water blocks on that style cooler.

maybe put a post in the Nvidia GPU section and ask if you need thermal pads/what thickness etc.

uPDATE
Booted the comp with my m3n-ht deluxe and my old 7900 GT and... i see nothing on my screen. the screen is not booting up.I did an cmos reset. Before booting with my new phenom II 955 i did a bios update so that shouldnt be the prob. :(
The Computer is not doing any beep everything is booting but no beep

BobbyBubblehead
01-14-10, 12:37 PM
well pull the battery & clear it why you have a look at the connections.

just have a good look at it all make sure its ok.

seems quite soon after your dunk test... could be water in the slots and plugs etc

Grosjambon
01-14-10, 12:58 PM
I did the **dunk test** at around 15:00-16:00 yesterday so it almost a full days that it is sitting there
right after the leak. I used the compressor to put all water out of all pci-e slot and other stuff :(

BobbyBubblehead
01-14-10, 01:29 PM
its more likely something daft from you disturbing it.

you need to play the elimination game.

try pulling all the ram and see if it gives out a beep code?

and try it without the gpu.

make sure theres no usb sticks or devices you dont need plugged in.

my MB always has bios fun and trouble clearing after a bad clocking fail.

it wasnt on when you flooded it and its dry now so im guessing its something from disturbing all the parts.

Grosjambon
01-14-10, 02:16 PM
okay. :) for now im gonna try with my old 6000+ see if its work. if not ill do elimination game i already remove hard drive / cd drive

Grosjambon
01-14-10, 02:42 PM
Ok tryed with the 6000+ no beep at all.
I removed all ram stick to see if any beep. No beep at all
So i might think that the motherboard is just dead.

Grosjambon
01-14-10, 10:40 PM
After trying thousand of methods to make it fix i finaly decided to make an **excuse that my mobo was broke** and went to the shop where i bought it and try to get the warranty over it :) Hopefully it will work :)

BobbyBubblehead
01-14-10, 10:51 PM
not sure whats gone off there

if it was new dust free and dry before you tried to run it then something else has gone off.

flexed it too much in your homebrew case maybe?

maybe some grounding point issue with it being a wooden case?

psu rails down but not all?

I can guess all day from this distance :)

Grosjambon
01-14-10, 10:59 PM
I tryed with my other psu. Wood is not conductive didint it?
Now running old gear in my old case it's really really small... lol
M2n-e - 6000+ 9600GT 5GIG ram.

BobbyBubblehead
01-14-10, 11:11 PM
nope its not conductive as you say.

just in a metal case if something goes wrong sometimes the stray volts can find its way to ground in your case... if your case doesnt conduct then its got to find another way e.g. through some bit of hardware and cables.

just wondering if you could have killed it somehow when you flooded it out.

my friends had one machine in the uk took it to BG and upon turning the europlug the other way round the earth wasnt connected.... computer was running fine but the case was live with 220V running through it (he found out the painful way, #heh he hee#)

Grosjambon
01-14-10, 11:25 PM
lol It might be a shock for him :)
Hopefully that **tech** from the place are going to say it is defective and warranty it or they will **repair it** but i dont think so because i tryed everyway it was possible to boot the comp...

BobbyBubblehead
01-14-10, 11:52 PM
theyll test it and look for signs of if its been in the hands of a "plonker"

but if its duff then theres nothing they can do for it... apart from put it back in its anti static body bag and ship it back to its maker.

(as for my friend he clearly needs new & safer electrics)

O_O Some Question there and there... I was wondering how to I screw my Fan on the rad? what kind of screw i have to use?
How can I do some cable management with my fan wire? i am using those included with my Scythe 3pin to a 4pin and it split with a 3pin + 4pin female + 4pin female :( that make too much muhc much wire...

Edit : taking some pic right now

Spawn-Inc

Koolance 3 pin splitter(4 to 1) (http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=23440)

as for screws, the swiftech mcr series uses 6-32 size. for length 1 1/4" screws work perfectly for a 25mm fan AND a standard wire grill. but always check so you don't puncture the rad.
