I found a good deal locally on some crucial ballistix memory 1x2

My sons computer is in dire need of an upgrade. He only has 1gb (512x2) of ddr2 667 and is running Windows Vista. I'm buying him Windows 7 and looking at more memory. Will an older PC that supports up to DDR2-667 run this memory at DDR2-667 speeds by default? I know it wont run at 1066 I just want to know if it'll run at 667 just fine.

You can edit the title of the thread... EDIT--GO ADVANCED.

Simple answer is yes. People do that all the time. It will just run it at 667 speeds.
