can anyone tell me what the actuall difference is between SDRAM and DDR SDRAM is? And is it really worth my money to get DDR ram instead of Sdram to use on my motherboard with an AMD ATHLON XP 1700?
DDR is Double Data Rate. The differance is that regular sdram transfers data once per clock cycle and ddr transfers data twice per clock cycle. In other words 133mhz ddr is really like 266mhz sdram. It would definately be a wise move to go ddr in your new setup.
DDR and SDRAM are not interchangable, make sure you get a mobo that suports DDR.
