Hey, i'm a bit new to Ocing, so mabye u can help me..

I've over clocked a few older cpu's, but i didn't have to change the voltage jumpers at all. I just wanted to know, if there was anyway to find out the peak voltage for a CPU, or if there is anyway to tell if a voltage is to high before the cpu is dead. other than noticing the computer not start, or fail to produce a post code.

hehe, i got an old P1 100 to 120
socket1 i belive

You will probably get better help in the Intel CPU's (http://forums.overclockers.ws/vb/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=2) section of our forums. PM a mod to move your post.

as far as i know voltage cant really kill your cpu , its the heat that roasts it. the higher the volt the more heat it produces. if you keep temps low with a powerfull air cooler or water setup, you can set voltage to whatever you want.

(my slot1 mainboard supports volt up tp 3.8:D when i finished my new water setup ill start raising volt of my p3 700E to see how far ill get :D -well, but i wont ever set it to 3.6 as it runs 933 @default 1.65v too bad you cant unlock p3 s.... i could set multiplier to 10:p
10x146=1460 ..... :beer: )
