I read about Gigabyte motherboards in socket 1156 like GA-P55A-UD4P that if you use usb 3 or Sata 3 the speed of VGA Card will decrease like these words which were writien in thier web site:
* When dual graphics cards are used in 1st and 2nd PCIex16 slots, SATA3 / USB 3.0 (Marvell 9128 /NEC USB 3.0 Controllers) will work at normal mode.

and like this post:

My question:
Is the speed of Usb3,Sata 3 and VGA Card going to decrease in GA-X58A-UD3R ??
http://www.gigabyte.com.sa/Products...board&ProductID=3397&ProductName=GA-X58A-UD3R

he is asking for X58 and ur article is about P55. Or I missed something?

you are right
I asked about the new mothorboard for X58: GA-X58A-UD3R
and the article talked about P55A series.

what he means is if you read the article youd understand that a single gfx card isnt enough to max out a pcie bus. two cards will come close. the differences between the chipsets and their usb3 implementation and how it affects the the pcie bandwidth are also covered. x58's are discussed. ....read the article.

but in short, to answer the OP, no, unless going dual gfx cards, then maybe a small measurable ammount. doubt you could notice in real world.

I asked Gigabyte technical service and they answered me:

Thank you for your kindly mail. GA-X58A-UD3R does not have such limitation, if you only have one VGA card, the VGA card, SATA 6Gb and USB 3.0 will work in full speed.

I hope this help someone
