has anybody an idea what to do to get this friggin thing running in 4xagp with sideband on????
i have a abit kt7a-raid v1.2 and i think all relevant bios settings enabled ( just think maybe forgot sth???) and running win2k

i got the card of a friend with literally no manual and the d/l manual dosnīt make me any wiser.

sideband addressing should be enabled if youve turned it on in the bios.
you can try installing your chipset drivers. gart will handle the agp interface for the os and perhaps sideband too.

if it's enabled in the BIOS, a tweaker prog like NVMax or powerstip should allow you to enable both 4X and sidebanding. The Geforce drivers disable both these features on VIA boards because of instability. I was able to get 4X mode if I reduced my FSB to 100 (keeping the AGP bus speed in line) but performance was better in 2X at the higher FSB. As for sidebanding, it seems to be a nogo altogether on my board...video locks up before getting into windows. Fastwrites seem to work okay though.

thx dude,
i tried it as suggested by you with setting down my fsb and -miracle- suddenly it worked. stupid of me not to think about it!!
well iīm down to 2x also and still trying to push the fsb over 125.
otherwise same prob here, no sideband possible. spend hrs with abit and asus techs on the phone. they dont have a clue really why it seems.:burn:
