That Tom's Hardware video was neat, and I noticed he used an XP 1900...
I was wondering - if I followed the same procedure with my 1600, what would happen? Would it jump right to a 2000, or up to a 1700?
And what kind of heat increase does this cause, thank you.
It will not "jump" to a higher rated chip. What it gives you is the ability to change the multiplier but it all depends on how your system overclocks. Just hope your CPU aint no dog when it comes time to clock it:beer:

Okay thanks, but why does Tom's say XP2000+ in the BIOS? Shouldn't it just say 1900 with a higher frequency?
That's because they were able to change the multiplier but you never know if it's stable until you do some stability tests on it. Remeber that if Prime95 TortureTest(full test 16+hrs) & Folding@Home2 fails on it then you can't say you have an O/C.
