OK I'll try to be as concise as possible. I've got a PC I'm working on with Vista on it that has a built in Blu-Ray player built in. When I connect it to the TV via HDMI from from my PC and I play a DVD I get picture and sound on the TV. However when I play Blu-Ray disc I get picture but no sound. The fact I can get sound from the DVD with HDMI mean the HDMI settings are correct. I know the disc is good, and if I plug in PC speakers get sound. So why would I have issues with the Blu-Ray?

what are the audio settings on the software you use to play BluRays? Is it 5.1? 7.1? Stereo? Passthrough?

BluRay movies will most likely use different audio formats than DVD's. If you have passthrough, you might be trying to send TrueHD or DTS-MA through HDMI. Until very recently, most cards couldn't do that. Whereas if you tried to passthrough DTS audio from a DVD, that would be much more likely.
