DVD play back trouble...help?

Ok i just got the creative dvd decoder card http://www.compgeeks.com/details.asp?invtid=DXR3 to go with my cyber drive 12x dvd rom. When i play a movie sometimes it pauses and skips a couple of frames!! i have dma enabled, dont know what the problem could be. Any suggestions?

Is the card sharing an IRQ with anything else that doesn't like to play nice? ie...the sound card or your modem?

Holy SH*t!! i just checked the irqs and my network card, ata100 controller card, sound card, video card, and the dvd decoder are all sharing the irq 11. How do i change them?

I believe you need to disable apci... that or disable "plugnplay os" in the bios might fix that.

i had pnp OS disabled already. When i disable ACPI, my computer boots up and then when windows is loading, it reboots by its self.
