I have a 500GPH Mag pump with the impeler. I have heard storys that people have made these water pumps quieter by gluing the impeler. Does anyone have any good pics of how to do this mod or any good step by steps someone could tell me.

Oh also which way should my water flow be going??
Pump......Waterblock.....Radiator......Pump?
Pump.......Radiator.......Waterblock......Pump?

Thanks

Welcome to the Fourms !

I don't know about the mod.

I have heard that it's pump/rad/block/and back to the pump.

I got my H20 setup realy close now and have been wondering the same thing.

But I guess if you try it either way, go with the 1 w/the best temps. I'm gonna try it that way.

Good Luck.

i have heard of the mod but have not seen anywhere showing how it can be done.

as for the setup it should go how WarriorII listed it because some pumps produce lots of heat

I'm not sure about the glue, but i do know that best way to set up is pump, radiator, waterblock, pump. That is best because the radiator cools the water first before reaching the block.

Hope this helps:D

I'm not sure about that speciifc pump but if you take the impellor off it's shaft you should see it's in two pieces. These will move maybe half a turn with repsect to each other. What you want to do is take them apart and put a small amount of glue on them then fix back together - make sure you don't get any into the hole for the shaft or on the outside of the impellor - that'll obstruct it's turning. I'd show you pics of my eheim but it's running now - I should have a new pump on the way in a few days so if you can wait (and no one else posts) I'll show pics then.

Cool Thanks for the 411.

Right now i have my h2o rig setup by Pump...Block.....Radioter...Back to pump. And my Temps are 31.9 Idle. 1.8Vcore and about 33.7 Load. I guess next time i drain my h2o rig i will switch around the hoses and try it the other way see which way gets better cooling

What block do you have? On blocks like the Maze2 and Swiftech that have the inlet placed right over the core I find it is better to have the out of the pump feeding into the inlet of the block. This gives you the highest possible water preasure pounding above the core for better cooling.

I have the maze2 with the water entering in at the core of the cpu. So your saying that i should leave my rig the way it is now?? Having the Pump putting the water in first and then shooting it up to the maze2 then down to the radiator?. Or should i switch it around and put the pump shooting the water to the radiator and then hit the Maze2???

Thanks
