Ive wanted a new 3d capable card for a long time now. This surround stuff be it eyenfity or surround looks awesome! However, I like to turn on all settings, yes even the little used physx. I know radeons don't have 3d or physx. But do u think nvidia's new series can even deliver? I mean physx+3d+surround with current drivers only supporting 2 way sli.....oh yeah and theres new 3d vision ready monitors supporting 1900x1200...I mean combine all that. Seems too heavy. I just don't think it will deliver, not on all the above at that resolution. That said I want a geforce only cause I'm a sucker and don't like not having all eye candy possible including physx. Though that radeon the 5970 looks amazing with 60+ frames in crysis at enthusiust levels. I think it will be at least 1 to 2 generations before 3d surround is capable. I am unbiased. But 3d surround? That be a hell of a lot of power! I'm actually more curious bout the new x86 instuction set on the new nvidia gpus... I think the new cards can do 3d surround but not well at hightest res & settings. My 9800gt can do 3d vision but not well.

PhysX isn't used that much. Sure a few games used it but it's mostly just for effects (for example in Mirrors Edge)
Until they bring out 2 or 3 good games that use the PhysX engine to complete tasks and goals I think it's a lost cause.
As for 3D I think that will take off but atm it's just to much money. If it was the price of the monitor + 60 bucks for the 3D set then I would get it. Nvidia might have to do < anyway looking at how powerful the 5890 is.
Surround? Looks good but surround + 3d? Wouldn't you have to get the angles perfect for it to work well?
But yeh, I'm really hoping Nvidia pull it off but I'm just not sure. I think Nvidia is more professional and have always been good to me and ATI are this company who offer a product that doesn't have all the trimings like Nvidia does. Now ATI does, is it the end? If it is then the prices are going to go waaay up because there's no compatition.
So yeh, that's my lecture for the day :D

Agreed. Also...
Too many? questions? in the title confuse? me? :p
If you're determined to blow money now on multi-1900x1200 display gaming, then you're getting ATI 5XXX series for the eyefinity.
I would bank more value in the the short term even on DX11. PhysX has been around since mid 2008 and what have we really seen come out? I was impressed at the time with the technology demos that came out then... but if PhysX was really going to take the world by storm and definitively make nVidia "the way it's meant to be played," well I'm guessing it should have done so by now...

I haven't heard of any 1920x1200 monitors that support 120hz/3d Vision, got a link or some model numbers?
Also, tri- and quad-SLI support for 3d Vision has been added to Nvidia's drivers, so you aren't limited to regular SLI any more.

Also according to nvidia: http://www.nvidia.com/object/3D_Vision_Requirements.html
There's also two acer ones. The design of the acer ones are just about as cool as the alienware ones. Google model numbers...

Both of those talk about 1920 x 1080 not 1900 x 1200.

Ati has Nvidia beat for price/performance ratio for the moment. Nvidia is set to launch a new range of cards which might change that equation.
With more games using Havok physics and Ati set to support that in hardware, as well as the fact that with AMD behind them, Ati has been making phenomenal products for about three or four years now.
Additionally, ATi's product ranges make a lot more sense to me without me having to go check a reference guide. Does it make sense to have a 4850 and a 4770 and a 5770 when they're all essentially the same performance level? All on the market at the same time? No. But it makes even less sense to have what Nvidia has... which is a bizzarre quagmire of cards that I honestly can't make heads or tails of.
Also, as an detail freak, I find ATi does, and has since about 2002 or 3, deliver a more delicate picture. Textures and colors look more deep and saturated-without being oversaturated. The best comparison I can give is that if there were an artist drawing each frame of your game, it was more lovingly drawn on the ATi card. ATi renders, to me, a more beautiful image. This is just my personal opinion based on my eyes. Your eyes may deliver a differing experience. Having said all that, I have an 8800GTS512 from 2007 which is due to be trucked off to a landfill in my system- but only because at the time ATi's most powerful offering was a 3870, and I wanted my extra 2 frames per second.

This from the guy who says he can see a difference between HDMI cables

What new games are using Havok?
ATI's reign in the GPU market came about since the inception of the 4 series of cards what two years ago, if that (RV770 I believe)...HD2900 was terrible. 3 series was better but still got its arse handed to it by the 8 series midrange IIRC.
Also the performance levels you mentioned with the ATI cards are like night and day. The 4770 is a slow card, the 4850 much quicker. And the 5770 is around the 4870 range but its new with DX11. This happens when new cards release. I cant really defend Nvidia's naming CHANGES, but its order is pretty good now... 295-->285-275-260(216)-250-240. Sure the 250 and 240 are G92 based cards but its still in order....
Just sayin... ;)

Isn't Diablo 3 using Havok?
And what about 9800 GX2 and the 9800 GTX+, those cards are in that region as well, right?

GX2 is about as fast as a 285, depending how well the game supports SLI. Performancewise, GTS 250 is exactly the same as a 9800GTX+.
