i'm overclocking my ak31 revision 3 board, and i have an 800mhz t-bird in there right now.. i've got the multiplier set lower than 8, so i could have the fsb higher, its at 133 right now and stable. my board has 3 different settings for memory voltage, how high is too high? also, what should my voltage on my t-bird go? i have a pretty good cooler, how high should temps be for me to turn the speed down.. thanks

You should be able to leave your memory voltage at default until you start going substantially above 133 fsb or doing other overclocking of the RAM.

I have my AK31 set to shut down at 60C. Personally I dislike being above 45C and love to be below 40C if possible. However even at 50C you wont be burning the chip. It's just that you get better stability at lower temps.

Which leads to your question about core voltage. Increasing the core voltage can increase stability as you go to a higher overclock. However it also increases the temperature. Start by seeing how far you can go at default voltages. Once you've figured that, try raising the voltage a bit and seeing if you can get further. You should be aware that the AK31 won't let you go beyond 1.85 regardless of what the BIOS says. To go beyond that you'll need to do a volt mod. The volt mod is pretty painless, and let me get an extra 140 mhz out of my Duron.

hey thanks.. yeah like i said i have my fsb at 133 now, and my multiplier at 7.. it wont go any higher than that and i've had my voltage at like +100.. so i think thats 1.8 right? maybe i'll have to do the volt mod on it, is there a link to that? i also have my system set to shutdown at 60... it usually hovers around 40C though right now and i'm at 933...

i did the vmod and now run at 1.98..added an extra 4 on my temp though, but i got the stability i was lookin for....now if i could just find a damn hdd that i can run over 160fsb
