Hopefully someone can help me out with this, I was using a 1.33 T-bird in the board before and had the option to change the fsb to 100 or 133 which 133 was right since it was a 266 chip. Anyway I got the new 1800 on the doorstep today and put it in, afterwords I reset the cmos and botted up and went into the bios settings to change the fsb and to my surprise it shows 100 without the option to change it, so now I have a chip that is stuck at 1150. If anyone has any ideas I am all ears, since I will have to wait till monday to contact the vendor. Thanks for any help.

Try flashing to the latest BIOS, it could help

I did try, it's at the latest bios which is 3.3, I have a feeling it's the chip for some reason. It's hard to say since I don't have another chip or motherboard to test on.

Very odd I have the same baord only no '2'. It reads it fine for me... Could the BIOS flash changed the options for FSB settings?
I doubt its the chip. Unless you have a 'special' chip?
I just finished putting my system together. I have the same KT266 Pro 2 Mobo and I put in an XP1700+. The Bios was flashed with 3.3 and it went to a FSB setting of 133 by default. I was reading the manual and it said the bios sets the FSB at 100 by default and has to be set to 133 by the user if the CPU supports its. I don't know what to tell you. It is a new board to me and I'm still not too familiar with it.

Before I flashed the bios to 3.3 it had the v3.2 and the option wasn't available, the line is there saying it is at 100 but it is white with no option to change it. Then I have the same thing with the new bios flash. When I had the old 1.33 266fsb Athlon in the option was there, so this is why I am thinking it is the chip. I just wish I knew which one it was so I know which one to replace.
