well i wanna get some good northbridge cooling so should i get a crystal orb or a blue orb for it?
the corb is only $1 more than the blue orb, lol.
would there be much of a difference between the 2 for northbridge cooling?

Get the crystal orb. On GPUs, there are several reviews showing big differences. I would suppose the same will follow on Northbridges.

If you can afford it, get another one for your GPU.

Cheers,

This Tenmax Lasagna isn't as good as a Blue or Crystal orb, but its cheap, normally $20 but I found it for you for $3.95 (http://www.mpja.com/product.asp?product=12813+FN)

but its not as cool looking as a corb ;)

I have a blorb on the north bridge of my KR7A-RAID, it's secured with AS thermal epoxy because the hole pattern is different. I put it on the belt sander for a little bit before putting it on. The friggin thing was concave when it came!

Some boards have small capacitors near the north bridge that might not let an orb fit, so make sure yours isn't one of them. (My old KG7 was)

They cool well, although the fans are single ball bearing therefore unstable and mediocre quality. It's still better than the stock HSF though. Plus, like you said....they look cool. I'd think the crystal orb would conduct heat away a little better too, because of it's use of copper and nickel plating.

the mobo im getting doesnt look like it has anything that would obstuct an orb (except maybe that capictator on the upper left, but i think an orb will fit on there, im just hoping the pins will line up right, cuz i dont really wanna epoxy it on there

Nah, doesn't look like you'll run into trouble. I had the KG7-RAID and it had these 2 capacitors making fit tight. I'm surprised that board doesn't have a stock active HSF on the north bridge. I have a MSI K7T turbo for my 1400 tbird that has the 440bx greenie style HS on it too....go figure. Anyway, the least you could do would be to pop off the stock HSF, wipe off the meager amount of paste and put on some AS2. They only use a little dab of the white goo. I circled the 2 caps in red:
