View Full Version : NetbookRAM,1GB or 2GB?
Wife got me an ASUS 1005 HA netbook 1.6GHz Atom WinXP and1GB 800MHz RAM. It came in a bundle with a case and a 2GB module of 667MHz RAM.
So which is better since I already have both? Less faster RAM or more slower RAM?
More slower RAM. Except in benchmarking, you'll likely never notice the difference in speed.
I think it will be hard to tell. More ram probably is better.

in an atom netbook the ram wont run any faster than 533 ( pc 4200).... so pop the 2gb stick in.... i run a ddr2 800 2gb stick in my netbook runs just fine and all that ram is nice!

Unless it's an ION netbook, the ram will be running at 533 regardless of it's rated speed.
As such, go for more ram.
Really even if it was an ion, Atoms are bottlenecked like mad by their slow speed and 533mhz fsb, you'd never notice the difference between 667 and 800 ram speeds.
EDIT:
Bah, nd4 beat me to it :P
