Somehow when I open Internet Explorer now it is "delayed." It is as if the computer freezes for a second and then opens up Internet Explorer. It started doing this when I was messing with my Voodoo 4 drivers... tried reinstalling the drivers over itself but that didn't work. Reinstalled Internet Explorer and that didn't work. Reinstalled Windows 98SE and that didn't work. What is causing the slowdown?
try reinstalling the most recent dir x? just a guess

Tried that, didn't help.:eh?: Any more ideas? It's not a huge deal but I wish IE would run fast like it used to and like it does on my brother's Duron 950.
um?
internet options\connections\lan settings
clear all tabs or mess with all tabs
could be looking for proxy or detecting settings? i have seen that misconfigured and adding a sec or two to page access, but dont really remember about start up
also check your general\settings see wher your temp internet files are, disk size etc, check your history folder
they are accessed during initilizization could also slow upduring
also what ver are u using

I am using IE 6.0.
It's not using a proxy... and I cleared temp internet files but that didn't help either. :eh?:
6.0
dont know i dont use it, from what ive seen dont plan to,had it on a few times, thought that its buggy, but thats my opinion, you got a firewall it could be talking to MS while its stalling for all i know, sorry cant suggest more, i did play with the cookie handling and other security settings when i had it in, but like i said i didnt like it
Um, what did you do to your V4 drivers? Try undoing it and see if that clears up your problem.
