LOL the rebate just changed from $30 to $40 so now it is $129 AMIR. (Too bad it comes out to $182.94 for me before rebates) how fast is OCZ rebates? do most ppl get the rebate back in like 6-8 weeks or sooner?

1 rebate per household. :-(

But $2.33/GB is very nice.

Thanks for the awesome deal link.

Well I got one before it went away. Tried to get a second one for pops or RAID, but before I completed it, they got sold out.

I was pretty worried that it's price would drop after I purchased one, just like with what happened with an earlier shell shocker (30GB Vertex?). I'm glad it's rebate value that increased, not the price that dropped.

Agreed. I was kicking myself for not getting it when it was $200 Black Friday, but this will have to do. :)

How about only after I figure out I can't survive with 60GB? :rain:

Well, mine arrived today in a little padded envelope. If anyone is curious, it had the most current 1.5 firmware.

I'm just waiting on my MSDN Win 7 download to finish before I install it. Apparently, my laptop doesn't like the 64 bit Win 7, and that was the only ISO I had. :(

That used to happen to me alot. I setup an account with Newegg and saved my CC info, but if I want to buy I have to enter the CCW #. Luckily I memorized it. Even faster on the Newegg app for my iphone. I can select and item and have it paid for in less than 10 seconds on iPhone. :)

Curses! It's on sale again for $129.99 (AMIR)! And I'm actually going to be out of CA this weekend so I could have had no sales tax. :bang head

I am highly disappointed I'm on a laptop right now, otherwise I'd pick up another for RAID 0...

Is $170 the regular-ish price and it's the MIR that makes this sellout-hot?

You will get a nice decrease in boot times.Imho its one of the biggest performance bump's ive seen from any upgrade ive done yet.Even though i dont have these im sure they are about the same.Anyone know what controllers are on these?

I went from a 74GB Raptor to this drive. Yeah... when recommending systems to people I feel bad when I can't budget a SSD in some way.

these have an indellix controller and genrally perform just a bit slower than agilities.

Yeah - it's a good thing, as long as the rebranding doesn't come with subtle hardware changes. There's an ADATA X25-M G2 that sells for about $230 now. As long as it'll flash with Intel firmware, I'm quite happy. :)

Just found out that my Super Talents FTM64GX25H use the same firmware as the Crucial CT64M225 and the the OCZ Vertex .They all have the latest firmware 1916.One of my SuperTalents has 1819 and one has 1916.I found this out after i raided them. Now ill have to wait til im ready to do a fresh install to update the 1819 firmware to 1916

Has anyone had any trouble with OCZ rebates? For some reason I'm under the impression that they're pretty reliable...

It would probably be nice to have a link directly to the product page: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227461

I've never had any problem with OCZ rebates but it's also the rebate processor you need to look at. 4myrebate has worked fine for me as well, I actually like the online registration aspect since it decreases the chances of errors in data entry at the processor plus it 'proves' to an extent when you did the rebate.

I bought a 120GB Agility with MIR before Christmas. Website shows the rebate as approved, but I've yet to receive the rebate. I've heard they're slow, so I'm giving it a few more weeks before I start calling.

Newegg has really nice customer service. That's my contingency plan. ;) Though it seems that the performance difference between the two is pretty marginal.

johan851

OCZ Vertex 60GB is now $194 - $40 MIR = $154. That's pretty competitive, but I'll probably stick with the Agility - it's about 4% slower than the Vertex Turbo, so we're really splitting hairs here.

I installed mine last night, and I'm pretty impressed! I only had about an hour to play with it after reinstalling Windows 7, but it's definitely a lot snappier than my old 74 GB Raptor. It is tiny! I forgot to get an adapter for a 3.5" drive bay, so I ended up just resting it on top of my old Raptor, which is now disconnected. I'm accustomed to the racket coming from the Raptor when it's working, so the silence of this SSD is a bit strange.

For anyone who bought it when I first posted (1/28), make sure you get your rebates out by the end of tomorrow, Thursday.

EDIT: For the record, I just got my rebate back today, 5/14. So that was... 3 and a half months, 14 weeks?

If you bought it on the second round of rebates (the offer ends today) you need to mail in the rebate within 21 days of your date of purchase.

That's my guess. Sales on these drives are getting more and more frequent. New controllers and new flash processes are on the horizon, and the cost of manufacturing is probably going down now that they're selling so many.
