It's been this price for a long long time. Price never changed. At least not at my local store or the website.

If not, my bad. But it has been $229 on the website for the past few weeks that I saw. Just trying to help out.

yes the price went to $229 here as well and was $229 in the store.
I would post up and say if anyone wants any chips I'll run and get them but then I would get flagged for selling something I don't have :(

Don't you EVER say something like that again!
I love my wife and I don't want her to divorce me because of something stupid I might do(like buy the whole store out of their computer parts)
on a brighter note: My buddy and myself would love for that to happen :D:attn::attn:

You might be able to sell it as a service, would have to PM a mod to find out.

I have one in Long Island I find myself visiting regularly even though I really, really shouldn't. :o
I wouldn't mind doing some runs like this for those who want a part, but the tax, not to mention the price of shipping (and a Whopper  ), would more then likely put it equal to some other e-tailers final price as well.
So let me get this straight, with Microcenter, you pay online then pick it up in store?

You can reserve and pay online for in store pickup. It's an option for those who live near one. It helps for those sales that tend to go quick. But they also ship just like a regular e-tailer.

I have a microcenter about half a mile from where I work. Thankfully I dropped the upgrade bug sometime last year. I still find myself buying stuff every 4-6 months or so, but I've finally shugged off the once a month gig! :santa: If I hadn't I'm sure I'd be taking a different way home on paydays....
I definitely have contemplated the i7, ddr3, 5870 jump many times. I know exactly how much it will cost and what kind of improvements I can expect. Right now I'm happy with what I have though... but the first time I sense any kind of lag in a new game I'm playing this beast is being dismantled!

So much for that, I played BFBC2 last night and I know it's a beta but it wasn't as smooth as I had hoped for. I was told this was caused by inefficient graphics coding and that it would be fixed in the final version. Psh :rain: I bought a 5870 just a few mintues ago. :D

The BFBC2 beta runs like crap across various machines regardless of settings. Don't worry.

Nothing to worry about now! I know it will be improved and I justified spending some tax refund as well. :attn: Now I can play dirt 2 :)

Hand pick it yourself. If it's not a D0, hand the box back and get another one until you do. ;)

That's why I didn't start another thread. Looks like a recurring theme with them now.

Man, I need some where online to have this deal. All ready to buy a new box with a 920 and it would be nice to save all that.

There are 2 microcenters in chicago.

Micro Center = Where you can fill your trunk. And get back in line.
Most of the floor staff there will take requests. If you mention. I want only:
SLBEJ = D0
SLBCH = C0
They will try their best to appease you. Long as you can tell them what you want.
Micro Center is like a IRL newegg. Only you might pay taxes , and have to put on pants to go there. My wife hates the 70 mile round trip runs. I love them.. The boxes are opened and overclocked before we get home..

There are NONE in Phoenix. They ae missing a sure market since Fry's has driven every other computer store (except TPI) out of business.

Just picked up my first i7 (920) last week, got the same batch that Brollocks raved about, pretty excited to get it OCed, even taking tomorrow off to get some extra time with the system and get some wire management going.
It's nice having a microcenter 10 minutes away, they told me that they matched newegg prices on mobos/ram/etc but I couldn't stand paying newegg price + tax when I could get it from newegg with free shipping. MC would have to take off an additional 7% to make up for it.

Showing 78 in stock @ the NJ Microcenter (the Long Island MC shows out of stock). With their sales tax, it comes out to about $193 dollars, cheaper then NY sales tax. (about 6-7 vs 8.675).
Although there is a toll going from NJ to NY, if people wanted to get a group buy going, I'd be willing to make the trip and grab a bunch of D0 ones.

With Microcenters website, you have to have a location chosen for items to show up in searches, because the search checks whats instock at that store, not what is carried by MC as a whole.
Ugh. I just noticed the "Limit 1 per household" now showing. I swear that wasn't there before. >.<

The 920s have had a limit of 1 or 2 per household for a while now. Hmm, I wonder if they honor price drops like that...
Hmm, seems that there may be a bug with the MC website, seeing how you can't find the processors on there anymore -- any of them, the processors link for all of the parts brings up a dead/sorry page.

I bought past limits before. One time, they shoo'ed me off on something. Usually, they are good at working with you. It really depends on the store and conditions.
Since this is not about group buys and outside the classies, which are not allowed in discussions.. I can say this..
I got a bunch of extra in a store for a local 'burb shop. I got my petrol paid for. It was like awesome, handling so many CO chips.

If you wanna search MC deals without listing a location, just type "i7 920 microcenter" into Google.

It's seriously tempting me to go with the i7 upgrade I was planning for the end of the year/new year. Being in NYC, I have 2 approximately the same driving time from my home, and I see on their website that another is about to open up to the north in Yonkers. So I'll have my choice of 3 Microcenters to choose from in the future. :attn:
