does anyone know alot about securitiy?
Im trying to secure my XP box as much as possible.. im steath acooring to grc.com, but i was wondering if theres a way to fully test?
im not like paranoided or nething, but i just dont trust XP...
i installed zonealarm to test, and i caught my isp/dsl provider trying to connect to me? kinda weird, i blocked it.. so i hope they dont have any kind of monitoring programs.. but anyways, id like some personal help if anyone knows this stuff well, thanks.

Go here (http://security2.norton.com/ssc/lunavbrk.asp?scantype=1&langid=us&venid=sym&plfid=21&pkj=ZTPIKXVNHWVKDQYZTYL) for a full security scan from Symantec.

As far as the ISP, I've noticed the same thing w/ Zonealarm. That's the only one that I get it from. Don't know why though.

www.dslreports.com has a free/quick test & more complete tests that you have to pay for.

From my experience with many different software solutions, I've found that putting a router (Linksys BEFSR41) in between your computer & the Internet offers the best isolation. In addition to that I still run BlackIce as I've found that that is the easiest software to use. You should also be careful if you have file sharing enabled & if you do, make sure that any resources you are sharing are password protected.
