Its not worth buying a slot a 1000mhz chip
because 1. they are way too expensive you would probbly pay 150 bucks for it.
2. They are RARE!!!!!!!!!! no one has them
the best thing to do is like what i did 8 months ago. i upgraded to a slot a t-bird 900mhz for like 150 bucks and then i bought a gfd off ebay for 25 bucks. Overclocked it to 1000mhz easy with 1.85 voltage.
thats the only and best way
now you can get a slot a 900mhz for 60 bucks

Yeah, 1 GHz Slot A chips exist but I can tell you this much: you don't want one. Heat is insane on those things. Not to mention power consumption.

IMHO you'd be better off hawking your slot A board on eBay and grabbing a KT133A/Duron combo. more overclockability and better performance.

better yet just buy a gfd and crack open your slot a chip and overclock your current athlon 200 mhz , cost you 23 bucks

i dont know why you would want 1000mhz anyway when you can buy 900mhz for 60bucks and 20 for the gfd which = 80bucks for a 1 gig tbird slot A. Thats what i got

go with a slot a 750, alot of them had 900mhz cores. actually, every one i've ever seen. i hit 1ghz with my 750 by soldering resistors onto the pcb. wasn't too hard but i'd go with a gfd for more flexibility. the 750's are still all over ebay and pretty cheap

I could get 950 out off a 650...with a 700 Mhz core.
That a lot off power for the price, and it was quite a fun!
:D
Feel free to ask, for further details!

yes indeed, the Slot A 1ghz chips are rare, Classic version you cna find, but they did make Thunderbird 1gis, but they are even more rare, So like it was suggested get some good coolong, grab a 750-900 Athlon and a GFD...Thats what Im going to do eventualy when I make the Slot A Im on right now into a server.

Man I love my case mod, 17C max load!!!
