I have a Crystal orb for my northbridge and I was just wondering if it is worth it. I just got a watercooler heatsink for my video card so Im gunna put the crystal orb on the northbridge. Will i see any improvement over stability? I mean i know it wont hurt putting a better one on but I just wanted to know what it does for my computer. Thanks.
Adding better cooling for your northbridge may increase youe chances of higher FSB overclocking. Some people have gone to extremes with northbridge cooling in the way of peltiers w/ waterblocks. If you live in a hot area & have a board that is FSB challenged then it will help you gain a few MHz down the line.

On my A7V there originally was a greeny crap heatsink. There was a tad of thermal goop.... very poor. When I ordered a BLORB for my GF2 GTS/PRO I took the old heatsink and modded it to fit between capacitors around the NorthBridge. I had to cut a bit of the side off of the heatsink with my trusty dremel, then reapply the fan, and pop it on. It runs on average about 28c, although my max fsb with this mobo is 112mhz (which by the way, is the absolute MAX for these mobo's based on the KT133 from my experience.)
So, basically, if you want a cooler northbridge, definatly. If you're going to be reaching speeds of 180fsb or more, it is a must. Pop on a modded K6-2 heatsink like my friend did. It works well too. Maybe even watercool it. I'm planning on watercooling my northbridge when I get a new mobo/cpu when T-breds come out, right now only my cpu is watercooled.
Hoped that helped.
