...the best 4GB (2x2GB) of RAM that I can run in my current setup.

I'm confused because Newegg tells me one thing, and the box my motherboard comes in tells me another.

Newegg says that I can only run DDR2 800.

My box reads this:

I want to stay under $150.

Also, will I need to change my current memory timings because of my overclock?

Thanks!

Newegg is wrong. The box is right and does not include overclocking.

Best kit is tough there are lots of decent kits out there. And yes you will have to make adjustments when Overclocking.

Okay, cool. That's what I expected to hear.

So, I can run DDR2 1066 RAM? Is it a noticeable difference from DDR2 800?

Thank you for the reply.

Having the faster ram will give you headroom for overclocking without worrying about the limitations of your memory. I'm pretty sure for gaming, the difference is negligible (maybe 5-10 frames at the most which isn't really noticeable). Synthetics may have better results but all in all, it's not like SSD vs. HDD. Just go with whatever you can afford.

Okay. Thank you. I eventuallu want to run watercooling and overclock past 4ghz as far as I can. I think I'll go with 1066 in that case.
