View Full Version : Counter-Strike movement is slow

Help! When I play Counter-Strike everything I do is put into slow motion. Jumping, shooting, running, walking, anything and everything. Any reason for this and how I can fix it? I started happening after I installed XP. Which is wierd because it shouldn't touch it at all.

Try setting its Compatibility mode to Win98

Well, it worked fine in Windows 2K so XP shouldn't be any different. I'm going to reinstall CS now to see if that does anything.

72. Perfect. Everyone else is at perfect speeds except me. It's like I'm in an instant replay.

have u tried shutting down to reset the memory? and then bootup and closing every extra programs running in the background( ie. folding, aim, Seti, etc.)

check your cl_maxspeed and things like that (I forget the exact command).

I tried to reinstall Half-life and CS. But that didn't work. I tried Windows 2000 and 98 Compatibility mode and that didn't work. Any other ideas? I'm going to die without CS.

What vid drivers did you install? What video mode is CS in?

I tried 27.10 BETA drivers and the 23.11 drivers. I think that it's Half-Life's fault though. I've tried OpenGL, Direct3D and Sotware. They're all the same.

why not just use the speedhack everone else uses...:cool: that is why i play quake 3 no hacks...

I'm requesting anyone's config file to try and compare them. Maybe something got screwed up along the way. And maybe a cvarlist file would help to. Thanks
