Well. I bought a new CPU cooler to cool my 940 CPU much better than the Artic Freezer....

Well, as I was installing it I somehow scraped off a trace.... and some small capacitance smds. I dare not turn it on with my CPU, so I took it to work and tested it.... no post. So, I got a hold of BIOSTAR and sent the motherboard out today. I hope I get it repaired/replace! But I probably would not get it back for about 2 weeks from today... so I haven't been folding. Not even on my laptop for fear it would overheat and kill itself, plus it's the only pc i have now.

So, here I am twiddling my thumbs as I see people I was ten ranks above that are now 10 ranks above me lol.

I'm actually having trouble with my folding rig.

I've been installing Ubuntu 64bit 9.10 and followed the FAH install guide on this site. I have the system at work, and so I turn off the machine when I have to work on a customer's PC. Eventually what happens is that I get some weird error (message?) when I execute the FAH app via terminal and simply cannot get it to fold anymore unless I start the process all over...

I plan on installing XP and see if I get the error there because it might be the motherboard (hardware issue) and not software issue...

Could you post the error message(copy/paste) from your FAHlog.txt?

Oh, FYI. What I mean by starting the process all over is that I reformat/reinstall.

One thing I noticed is that I had to manually set the jumper on the hard drive to master and the DVDROM to slave for the BIOS to detect the HDD faster. After doing that I reinstalled Ubuntu, but have yet to install FAH.

I'll see if that fixes the problem...
