Looks like they tried to make it look like the Wii and Xbox 360 at the same time.

When I saw the title of this thread I almost jumped out of my seat, then I opened the link. I sure got fooled.

No fooling, it is what the thread title says. It just isn't any good. If Atari released a machine tomorrow that plays 2600, 5200 and 7800 carts then it would technically be a new console.

It's OK, they won't make another one. Your the last Sega console that'll be worth anything.

Probably. The dreamcast had potential, it's a shame it never really took off like it should have.

I thought the Dreamcast was/is awesome! Played all the classic Sega games. What more could you want? Back then I think there was PC games on top (that hasn't changed) then the Sega games and after all that followed all the other games. It's obviously changed quite a bit for console games now but even now dusting off the dreamcast and playing some classic Sonic is good for the heart :)

I would've bought the Dreamcast had it been able to play Saturn games and use standard Saturn gamepads.

So, where is the "HI-DEFINITION GRAPHICS" AND "16-BIT" logos on this machine?

Piracy and the PS2 killed the Dreamcast. The games were so easy to copy it wasn't funny. Then the PS2 came along and even though the Dreamcast games looked better they were still 1.5GB discs not 4.7 like the PS2.

Still have my dreamcast and don't want to sell it. Couldn't believe that Sega was quitting the console business when I heard it first back then.

That's one example of where piracy really did 'kill' something, for the most part. PS2 didn't play as big of a role in that. The DC games were just way too easy to copy.

Would be interesting and a bit strange if Sega was still seriously into the console market today... so many consoles competing vs each other.

i've got several dreamcasts and i cant seem to get rid of them.

and technically its not sega releasing this "console" its a 3rd party. not really any different than those jak's tv games they have now (yes theres a genesis one)

Makes me think about busting out my old sega genesis and playing some sonic.

Dang the title was mislead - and I'm glad it was.
