I downloaded the Console 6.29 set it for -smp 2 -verbosity on normal wu's 2048 ram
Is that the right settings?

How many ppd's will it net me?

So that's what you meant by 6.29... I thought you meant OCing the CPU to 6.29......

6.29 is the new SMP client that will run A3 WU's. Some of which have bonus points.

I'm running 6.29 as stated above with that config and it took 13 minutes to pop off 1% so that means(if math is right, which it probably isn't) it's going to take 21 hours to complete this unit.

1% 13 minutes x 100 / 60 = 21.xxxxxxx

My Phenom 545 gets ~11-13min TPF on the A3's

4458 is a uniprocessor WU (not SMP, not a3, but Gromacs single processor)
and you're making 250 ppd on it.

Should I change it up or something or is that all this machine is good for?

Configured as you describe, you should have pulled an a1 SMP WU. Did you add the -smp flag after you started it?

A C2D @ 2.7 should make about 1000 ppd on a1 WUs, 1200 ppd on a3 WUs and 1900 ppd in a VM on a2 WUs. the e2180 is a small cache cpu so it could make somewhat less than my numbers from a E6600.

Well,
Something isn't right. Post up the log at the start of the WU and your client.cfg and I'll troubleshoot things. If you don't want to mess with a VM, you'll probably make a few more ppd on SMP2 than SMP. You have to set -advmethods to get SMP2 (a3) WUs.
