Hello,

I'm getting a new card (as shown in my sig) soon and I'll be able to get rid of this 7900GS. It is a 3-4 year old card that I'll never use again. I was thinking of trying out MSI Afterburner to overclock it with some volt modification. Just to try. I won't be bothered if I overvolt and break it anyway. I would like to do this before I start overclocking my new card on which I might do some volt modification. I would like to know if it is even possible on an old card such as this..?

Advice needed.

Absolutey is..... I had dual 7900GS's volt moded that rendered me some serious scores in 3dMark05 back in the day. There used to be a thread on here about pen modding the 7900GS.... I'll see if I can find it. They weren't slouches, but I ended up water cooling both GPU's. I don't think you wanna get that serious with an old card. LOL

Thanks a lot, no I'm just on air cooling, terrible one atm :p

This is pen modding though. But I can also just use MSI Afterburner right?

You cant mod volts on every card with MSI afterburner. Especially that one. Just use Precision or Riva Tuner.
