I have some TV seasons where there are a bunch of episodes and extra features and whatnot that makes them a pain to use with MP TV Series. What's the best way to simply do straight rip/images (ISO?) of the DVDs and store them on a hard drive? Is there player software that can read them as if the disc was in the drive, or do I need to mount them using optical drive emulation software?

IIRC MPC-HC and VLC can read video from a .iso

Also, I think ImgBurn can do what you want it to. It's really straightforward to use as well.

Will any of those support all the menu and commentary functions just like the disc was in the drive?

Well, I'm not 100% sure, but last time I put a DVD in my drive and played it through MPC-HC I was able to control the menus and such. So my guess is an iso would be the same story.

DVDShrink for ripping them uncompressed as an .iso file
