Trace tape for the XP's?

Does anyone know why it didn't work. I'm about to start on the process of unlocking my 1800, and 1900 tonight, and some of my ideas are quite like the trace tape concept. If anyone can tell me why that didn't work it would be very helpful.

Not all failed with trace tape. I beleive the general reason for lack of success was no solid contact at bridge points, probably due to lack of pressure.

Luta is right about the lack of pressure. The probable reason for this is the uneven surface of the new material used for the cpu. If you look closely, there are little peaks and valleys on the organic material.

I believe that the phone company uses something similar that has worked rather well on the xps. Hoot might know more about this.
