I just have one question, what's better?
X2 5850
One 5870
My case is an Antec 1200 and the motherboard is going to be

So which is better as far as bang for your buck? Or do you guys and gals just recommend I get one 5850 (which would make my budget extremely happy).

What is your screen size and resolution?

1x 5850 would be fine for anything really. I have a 4870 and I can pretty much max out any game.
With the money you'd save buying 1x 5850, you could upgrade to an i7 instead of 1156 :D

uhh if your trying to go the cheap rout and cross fire cards to get to 5870 performance you need to go with 2x 5770's.
2x 5850 would kick some serious ass though, probally MUCH beyond a single 5870

There is nothing wrong with 1156 MBs.

X58 can use triple channel RAM and it's better in multi-GPU setups since it isn't limited to x8/x8. The difference isn't much between x8/x8 and x16/x16, but there is <10% increase in performance.

The 1366 chipset isn't a big seller yet. The 1156 is.

Msi is the only one i know of so far
and triple vs dual ram isnt that great of an increase
