After a 150hour test with prime and 3dmark2k/2001, my computer has reached it max o/c for the processor and gpu. just to be safe with stability, I'm runnin 1.9Vcore.

AMD ATHLON 1000C
There is no way to bring the cpu any faster, it just darned would fail prime torture even with 2.1V Core. 1350MHz with 1.8V is the highest plus my ram is 1GB @ CL2.

Not bad, the only thing left to do is get another D740X 80GB drive and a 32/16/48 CDRW Burner

and a 32X DVD-Rom.

oh and another 512MB stick of ram!;)

There are no 32/16/48 cd-rw or 32X dvd-rom drives out right now AXIA! 32/12/40 cd-rw and 16X dvd-rom drives are the highest transfer speeds available right now, Am I right guys?

DOCTOR EVIL,

Your 100% correct!, there isnt YET, but in six weeks, several new technologies will emerge as 18 brands will be releasing 32X CD burners, (Plextor already has 40/12/40 out!).

But I am waiting for Yamaha's 32X CD-burner since I've heard that it will read and RIP at 48X!

Also, I heard they will bring 16X Re-Write into the picture!

Plextor also has a 40/16/48 in the works!

My processor is a 1GHz C AXIA Athlon.

As for DVDs, 25X series is here as of february 6th, Afreey will ship 25X/100X DVD-Rom drives to retail shelves. Both Pioneer and Toshiba will also have 25X DVD within the next two months.

When I say 32X DVD, I mean, I'm gonna wait and buy 32X DVD when it becomes avail, hopefully by Summer this year. My 10X DVD is showing its age. I need 32X for Never Winter Nights.

Man those are crazy speeds! I do think my TDK 16/10/40X and iomega zipCD 650 8/4/32X cd-rw drives are fast enough for me for a while now anyways! So are my Toshiba 16X and I/O Magic 12X DVD-ROM drives. I do agree that the Rewritable CDs need to go up in speed from 10X to at least a maximum of 24X and stay there. As they say the faster these things run the more noise, vibration, risk of CD or DVD disks flying apart from high rpms and higher heat, and finally the higher risk of data corruption or data read, write errors, it's not the kind of things that I would want to happer to me. I can't wait for DVD-R, DVD-RW, and DVD-RAM drives to come way down in price, say $200 or under, and for their DVD writing speeds to go way way up!!! Then I would have to get myself the best one out.:D

1GB of RAM!!! How many blocks??? If to many it might be hindering more OC'ing!!!

Just a Question:

Does anybody really use the Re-Write on CD-RW's? I mean, CD-R's are so cheap, why would you waste time Re-Writing a CD? Seems a little strange to me, but I look at the Write speed and the Re-Write could be 1x for all I would care :D .

Just my $0.02 ;)

It depends on what you wish to achieve.

If you have some CD-RW's and often re-write data ie: making backups or transfering data its useful.

However if you are writing normal info say a music cd you burn to CD-R.
